How to Purchase a Derby Washtub Bass

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

As of April 2024, the price is currently $325 for the Standard model and $215 for the Economy model, plus packing, shipping and optional insurance. The shipping cost depends upon your location. The washtub bass is an awkward instrument to pack and ship.   

If you live in the six New England States, I would be happy to discuss alternative delivery or pick-up options. I believe that it is important to talk to each prospective purchaser before the purchase so that you fully understand and appreciate what you are purchasing and can have all of your questions answered to your satisfaction before you commit to buy.

HOW DO I PAY FOR IT?

Send a check or money order for $325 or $215 plus the quoted packing and shipping cost, to: Charles Derby, 39 High Street, Peterborough, NH 03458. Orders paid by money order and bank check will ship immediately upon receipt. Payments by personal check will ship when the check clears, which is usually 3-5 business days. I can also accept payments by PayPal, including credit card payments, using the buttons in the windows below, or you can make payment to: derbym2@comcast.net via PayPal.  Make sure that you have the shipping quote from me before making payment.

IS THERE A GUARANTEE?

The only guarantee I will make is that it will be the most well-crafted washtub bass I can make. This is a hand-made folk instrument, and it is important to understand and appreciate that fact before you buy the instrument.
